  Hefen Sa-Akhi    

Music and Program Director


Hefen Sa-Akhi, or affectionately "Mut Hefen", is the co-founder and current director of Maa Sa Akhi.  She is a graduate of Adrian College with a music degree, graduating with the highest honor in her class for community service.  In addition to her vast experience with classical, jazz and contemporary music, Mut Hefen is also a composer of positive, "jam in your ear" hip-hop children's music and books.  

Amen Stoney 

Music Theory, Piano, & Guitar Lessons 


Hailing from Brooklyn, NY, Amen Stoney started music with organ lessons at Music Stop at the age of 8. After studying for two years, Amen discovered a great interest in the guitar. His parents bought him a video game called Guitar Hero. With repetition and mastery of the game, as well as a continued interest in playing the real guitar, he convinced his parents to get a guitar. After lessons and years of playing, Mr. Amen consistently evolved into a professional guitarist and is currently teaching weekly at Maa Sa Ahki.

  Ankh Ra   

Vocal Development Lessons 

Ankh Ra is a sought-after vocal coach in the music business, having been featured as the vocal coach for the P Diddy series MTV Making the Band IV. Ankh has taught many students who have gone on to perform professionally both in groups as well as individually. He currently resides in NYC and teaches vocal master classes at Maa Sa Akhi

Sebastian Gonzalez 

Piano & Band Lessons 

Sebastián González is a guitarist, composer and music teacher born in Bogotá, Colombia. He studied music at the Javeriana University, El Bosque University and the Cristancho Academy in Bogotá. Earlier in his career Sebastián became a part of the Colombian project Mauricio & Palo de Agua, a group that publishes 3 albums (Canto Caribeño, Contigo, Viernes) with the record company EMI Music, in which they were signed as exclusive artists. He has received numerous awards such as the Golden Sigla Award at the Latin American Festival in Milan, Italy and two nominations for the Latin Grammy Awards (best new artist, best tropical song).  In his career, Sebastián has shared stage with artists such as Juan Luis Guerra, Fito Páez, Marc Anthony, Aterciopelados, Gilberto Santarosa, Juanes, Los Prisioneros, Fonseca, Cabas and others.  Sebastián currently teaches piano and jazz band at Maa Sa Akhi.
